The Big Farmland Bird Count is under way in the county
Farmers in and around Melton Mowbray are recording bird populations to provide a snapshot of the wildlife on their land, boost numbers and highlight the important role they play in conservation.
The GWCT's 2026 Big Farmland Bird Count has been extended by another week, until March 1, because of adverse wet weather during February.
