Now obviously I’m not saying you shouldn’t use food in training, I literally do it all the time. But if you don’t understand how and what your dog is motivated by, you could be forming the wrong associations. Of course food CAN be reinforcing to dogs, but reinforcing means it causes an increase in our desired behaviour.
