According to a spokesperson from the mayor’s office, New York City has seen an influx of 2,000 to 2,500 asylum seekers a week. The city is now at a point where it says there is no room left and help from the federal government is desperately needed. EDITOR'S NOTE: The FDNY initially said one person had died, however, police later said the person (the driver) was in critical condition. A passenger in a ride-share vehicle on the FDR Drive attempted to rob their driver at knifepoint, sources told PIX11 News.
